Government Unani Medical College (GUMC) Bangalore, established in 1975, originated from the All India Tibbi Conference held in 1973. The college was inaugurated by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and was initially affiliated with Bangalore University. GUMC offers a Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) degree, with 60 seats for undergraduate students. The college provides postgraduate courses in Ilmul Qabalat (Obstetrics and Gynecology) and Jild-o-Tazeeniyath (Dermatology and Cosmetology). In 2017, a 100-bed hospital was inaugurated to provide clinical services. The college is active in organizing free medical camps and health awareness programs in Bangalore.
