AMC students are recognized nationally and internationally for their academic excellence and achievements in sports and culture. With strong patriotism, they have actively participated in freedom struggles. Following the Hippocratic oath, the medical faculty of AMC and KGH consistently dedicate themselves to serving the poor and needy.
Medical education in Visakhapatnam began in 1902 with the Victoria Diamond Jubilee Medical School, supported by Maharajah Sir Goday Narayana Gajapathi Rao. The school became Medical College, Vizagapatnam in 1923, officially inaugurated by Diwan Bahadur Rajah Panuganti Ramarayaningar, marking the beginning of formal medical education in the region.
